Job Summary:  The purpose of this job is to receive, ship, and handle grain and perform preventative maintenance and cleaning as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in grain inventory & position grain in facility to maximize marketing value.
  • Assist in coordinating inbound grain receiving activities and segregation of grain.
  • Assist in coordinating outbound loading and positioning of grain for both rail and trucks.
  • Ability to motivate, and lead employees with manager assistance and follow-up in the absence of grain superintendent.
  • Communicate daily activities, needs, & accomplishments with location Superintendent.
  • Assure safety compliance.
  • Assist and follow preventive maintenance activities and record.
  • Develop operational knowledge to assist in other departments.
  • Provide assistance on facility improvement planning and capital expenditures with location superintendent.
  • Perform, coordinate and record daily facility maintenance.
  • Assist in monitoring outside contractors and follow up with documentation.

     

  • Education Requirements:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Experience Requirements:

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

    REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

     

     

    Other Requirements:

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    USDA warehouse weighing and grading license, train weighing license, and commercial fumigation license (7C).
